“ABSOLUTELY confident in it,” Bo Nickal believes he can BEAT Israel Adesanya if he matches up “RIGHT NOW”
Bo Nickal- Israel Adesanya
3-time NCAA Champion Bo Nickal has already proved his dedication to the sport of mixed martial arts with his spectacular knockout win in his professional debut but now managed to grab the big eyes with his spectacular 61-second submission finish at the UFC’s Dana White Contender Series. But Nickal has visualised his dominance far enough to say in the past that he can dominate Khabib Nurmagomedov in a wrestling contest, but now has spoken another huge name in his own tone of being positive about securing the victory.
On the wrestling mat, Nickal is a 2017, 2018 and 2019 NCAA champion, 2019 US National Champion and former U23 World champion as well. Nickal is one of the hottest prospects in all of the MMA scene right now. Nickal, a wrestler built out of the Pennsylvania State University, is training as a mixed martial artist in the American Top Team alongside the likes of Jorge Masvidal, Kayla Harrison, Dustin Poirier and many more top-tier athletes.
“That’s a fight to me,” Bo Nickal says he would be “extremely happy” with the Adesanya fight
In an interview with Ariel Helwani at THE MMA HOUR, Nickal talks about the decision to fight for Dana White’s Contender Series for the second time, his training facility, how his wrestling experience goes against the top 10 and much more. In the midst of all, Bo Nickal also talks about how he would square up against UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
“I would love that fight, that would be a dream match-up. Obviously, with all due respect, he is one of the greatest middleweights of all time, a great champion… I would be absolutely confident in that fight [right now],” Nickal said. “That’s a fight to me, I’ll say again styles make fights, and I would be extremely happy with that matchup right now.” [h/t MMA Fighting]
What do you make of Nickal’s confidence in getting potentially matched up against Israel Adesanya? Do you think Nickal will bring the biggest threat to the UFC middleweight division through his wrestling the same way middleweight great Anderson Silva did through his striking back in the 2000s? Where do you put Adesanya amongst the greatest middleweights of all time? Who do you think wins if they ever fight?
