The highly anticipated bout between Paulo Costa and Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 294 has been canceled. Costa had to pull out of the fight after undergoing surgery on his right elbow after a bursitis injury. Subsequently, Costa has been replaced by the former welterweight kingpin Kamaru Usman for UFC 294. As such, Bo Nickal isn’t happy that he didn’t get the chance to fight Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 294.
Bo Nickal has expressed his opinion that the UFC overlooked him in favor of Usman in order to safeguard Chimaev. Interestingly, Nickal hasn’t had to work hard in any of his UFC fights. He made it to the big leagues in no time at all in Dana White’s DWCS 2022 and has been dominating almost all of the UFC’s fights. On his YouTube channel, Nickal stated, “I’m guessing they didn’t want me to roll over into Abu Dhabi on 10 days’ notice and smash their boy in front of his home crowd or something.”
In addition, Nickal stated that he wasn’t approached or considered to be Costa’s replacement for UFC 294. Consequently, Nickal stated that the UFC is trying to protect Chimaev from him because it would be an easy fight.
Nickal remains unbeaten in his first two fights at the UFC, both of which he won in the first round. In addition, a lot of people think that the American could challenge Chimaev in the future and easily defeat him inside the octagon.
