UFC lightweight Bobby Green marked a highlight in his career when he defeated Grant Dawson at UFC Vegas 80. Green defeated Dawson with a 33-second knockout in Las Vegas. With a spectacular first-round knockout win, Green aims to keep the spirit of the fighter alive with his deeds. The veteran has competed in over 45 fights and remains a dangerous threat in the division.

I feel like I’m the last of the OG, you know…” said Green on the UFC Post Show. “Umn… I’m trying to keep this certain uh style. I feel like a lot of the guys now are just athletes and not Fighters, right? I came to show you a fight.” Green mentioned fighters dropping out of the roster and that he would still want to keep going. He mentioned his desire to inspire somebody younger through the way he fought.

Green has had a mixed year of wins and losses. He has fought four times in 2023 alone. He fought against Tony Ferguson, Jared Gordon, and Drew Dober in 2023. Green had a win, a loss, and no contest in these three bouts. On the other hand, Dawson ranked #10 at lightweight, had quite a streak. He had won 11 and drawn one in his previous 12 fights. “King” broke the streak off in an impressive fashion.

Having submitted Ferguson in August, Green is now on a back-to-back win streak. In the subsequent post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier, Green said he was ready for whoever he faced next. He claimed to have never called shots or names but rather would like to call out dates. He insisted on active participation, wanting to fight in December again.

Bobby Green gets a sudden callout from Renato Moicano

Fresh out of a win, veteran lightweight Bobby Green gets a tweet-callout from peer Renato Moicano. With a first-round win over Grant Dawson at UFC Vegas 80, Green received praise from many pro-fighters and peers. Moicano hopped on to issue a callout to Green.

After their respective wins at UFC 271, Moicano had requested a shot against him. Green had called out to Moicano after his victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 291. The only glitch was that Moicano stipulated it has to be a main event. It has yet to materialize. While not a high-stakes match, Dawson was still ranked #10 lightweight. Moicano felt it was the right time to pursue a bout against Green.

Green hopes to fight on the UFC 296 card at T-Mobile Arena. Despite best efforts, he has not succeeded in calling anybody out yet. Since his move to Las Vegas and the fallout of his victory, things could change, though. If his plans to fight on the UFC 296 card fail, he could headline another Fight Night card against Moicano.
