Brandon Moreno can talk his way through the fights he wants to, but he cannot do so at the cost of being a bad figure for his loved ones. Moreno, who defeated Kai Kara-France with a sensational performance and a TKO finish at the co-main event of UFC 277, is now the interim UFC flyweight champion of the world. Moreno is now slated for the inevitable fourth fight against current undisputed flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo, which will be the first fourth fight of a rivalry in UFC history.

Moreno and Figueiredo are growing the worth and popularity of the flyweight division, all thanks to their 3 epic fights so far. Moreno first fought Figueiredo, who was then the champion, back in December of 2020, when the fight ended in a draw. The rematch was slated for July 2021 when Moreno submitted Figueiredo to become the new flyweight champion. In January 2022, the trilogy took place and Figueiredo edged Moreno via a split decision to bring the title back on his waist.

In the post-fight media scrum for UFC 277, Moreno explains being respectful to Figueiredo in his callout for the fourth fight, who by the way, entered the Octagon to face off Moreno during the interim champion’s Octagon interview with Joe Rogan. Moreno also talks about his victory against Kai Kara-France.

“I promised I was like ready to throw everything against him [Figueiredo] at the moment [octagon interview],” says Moreno “He was in Dallas since 2 days ago, I saw him in the lobby in the hotel. You know man, I was ready to take on the mic and say ‘let’s go motherf**cker! let’s go for the fourth one!’ But, man everything I said was real man, my little daughter, my other daughter Madison, she is 8 years old and now she understands everything or not, but she will understand. I knew I had the opportunity to be a better example. I don’t want her to see her dad doing stupid things on television, right…” he continued.

What do you make of Moreno’s reason to be respectful against his rival in Figueiredo? Who do you think will win the fourth fight? Also, what did you make of Moreno’s performance against Kai Kara-France? Do you think the rivalry between Moreno and Figueiredo is the greatest of all time? Do you think the flyweight fighters are finally getting the recognition they deserve for a long time?
