Former UFC champion Brandon Moreno last entered the octagon at UFC Mexico in February. He faced Brandon Royval in a potential title eliminator. Now, the Mexican posted a video on his social media and announced stepping away from MMA.

Brandon Moreno has slid to a two-fight losing streak with his loss to Brandon Roval. As such, ‘The Assassin Baby’ felt frustrated, given that he put 100% effort into his preparations. The Mexican revealed that he was taking a break from the sport. Here is what he said:

In the end, I think I’m just tired. I’m a little tired of the media. Of the same questions, and the environment, and the constant pressure...I’m going to be the champion again. I just need my body and my head to rest.

Known for his manifestation of words, fans had high hopes for the Mexican. He first won the flyweight title by defeating Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 263. They then had a historical quadrilogy, with Moreno leading by a score of 2-1-1. He lost the title to Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 290 in one of the best fights of 2023.

For all the people that are with me in the good and the bad, look at this point the only thing I can promise is that I’m going to keep fighting. I’m going to keep going forward. I’m going to do everything I can to get up, and why not? I can, and I want to, and I’m going to achieve it. I’m going to be champion again. I just need my body and my head to rest.
