Brandon Royval has expressed interest in a rematch against former Flyweight champion Brandon Moreno
Brandon Royval faced Matt Schnell in the prelims for UFC 274 where he managed to secure a first-round finish in the form of submission via guillotine choke. What was more impressive is the fact that a fight that lasted for under two and a half minutes was still able to gain the honor of being The Fight of The Night, garnering both fighters the $50000 bonus that comes with it. Royval who was #6 at flyweight managed to crack into the top 5 of the division with this victory.

Royval will now look to have his first fight in the upper echelons of the flyweight division, but he has faced at least two of four flyweights above. Royval has fought and secured a second-round finish over Kai Kara-France at UFC 253, with another guillotine choke. However, the other contender he has faced and come up short against is former flyweight champion, “The Assasin Baby” Brandon Moreno.
In their bout at UFC 255, which saw Moreno being the aggressor mixing it up with strikes and submission attempts, Royval came up short and was TKO’d with only one second left in the first round. This victory led Moreno to an immediate title bout against Champion Deivison Figueiredo, who wished to make a quick turn-around after his victory at 255. Royval would go on to lose his next bout against Alex Pantoja but would gain back his footing with a victory over #8 ranked Rogério Bontorin and his most recent victory at 274

When asked in an interview with TMZSports, who Royval would like to fight next, he made clear his intentions of settling scores with Brandon Moreno. He said, “I think me and Moreno running it back (makes the most sense as ) I popped my shoulder when I was on top of the guy” referring to the injury he suffered mid-fight causing him to not be able to defend himself. Royval went on to describe Moreno as a “super good guy” and those are people he doesn’t wish to fight. He said, “You don’t wanna fight like really nice people but that being said, he’s just standing in front of my dreams”

Royval went on to mention how he’s already beaten Kai Kara-France and he’s got nothing to prove against him. When asked how he envisions the rematch to play out he expressed his wish to gain a submission or finish victory over the former champion. Moreno and Kai-Kara France have verbally agreed to a fight for the interim flyweight championship as Deivison Figueiredo is on the sidelines due to an injury.
