UFC light heavyweight contender Johnny Walker hilariously tripped on the stairs, at the UFC 294 weigh-ins. The Brazilian MMA fighter got slightly excited on entering the main stage. He hurried up the flight of stairs and tripped. He handled it relatively nicely though. Walker faces fellow co-contender and light heavyweight hitter Magomed Ankalaev at the Etihad Arena, in Abu Dhabi.

The video coverage of the whole incident shows the fighter making his approach and engaging fans. On the last flight, atop the stairs, he overshoots and almost trips down. Fortunately, he managed to keep his balance, almost being caught by those surrounding him. He then straightened up and proceeded to the weigh-in, successfully.

Coincidentally, this is not the only stint of Walker tripping before a weigh-in. Back in 2022, he was facing off against Jamahal Hill, headlining the main event of UFC Vegas 48. And once again, he had tripped on his way to the weigh-in. He did successfully undergo the process, coming at 206 lbs, while Hill stood at 205 lbs. At the latest one, many fan reactions have thus poured in, stating the sentiment that this is just ‘Walker being Walker.’

Heading into his fights against Ankalaev at UFC 294, Walker is on a high note with a three-win streak. Though the self-proclaimed ‘Walker 2.0’ has rounded up a better skill set instead of unrefined athleticism, he is still the underdog in this matchup. Ankalaev has a solid track record, remaining unbeaten in his last ten fights.

The Russian has lost to Paul Craig, faced Ion Cutelaba twice, and suffered a split-draw decision against Jan Blachowicz. But he is still considerably a force to reckon with and considered one of the best in the division.

Fans react to injury-prone Johnny Walker tripping over on way to weigh-in

Johnny Walker, the Brazilian sensation and 2018 Dana White’s Contender Series entrant, faces off against Magomed Ankalaev on Oct. 21. The light heavyweight contender, however, found himself deliriously tripping on the stairs at the weigh-in event. Video of the same has surfaced over the internet. It has garnered a multitude of fan reactions.

The common consensus amongst fans is that Walker is highly prone to self-inflicted injuries, which can be deemed hilarious at times. In his matchup against Jamahal Hill, he faced a similar course of fate on tripping over. Surprisingly, and quite infamously, he had also injured his shoulder during a post-fight celebration in the cage.

Walker and Ankalaev are rightful contenders in a bout that could determine the next 205 lbs titular contender in the process. Legitimately, in line is also Hill himself, upon his return.
