Breaking: Khamzat Chimaev out from his main event fight against Nate Diaz, misses weight by almost 8 pounds

Nate Diaz vs Khamzat Chimaev’s fight is in jeopardy as the latter failed to make weight at the UFC 279 weigh-ins. Khamzat Chimaev was unprofessional and 8 pounds over the weight limit. However, Chimaev’s attitude towards the weight cut gained attention after he smiled after failing to make weight by such a large margin.

Khamzat posed and smiled after failing to make weight and walked off. He didn’t even look drained while weighing in. This raised questions regarding his will for cutting the weight. One of Nate Diaz’s associates took his Twitter to write:

But, according to top Journo Ariel Helwani, Khamzat did have some medical issues for which he was unable to make weight.

Soon after failing to make weight, Khamzat Chimaev took his Twitter to post a hilarious picture of himself with his friend and UFC fighter Darren Till. Chimaev playfully blamed Darren for his weight miss and wrote:

Many fight fans did not like this attitude from a rising prospect like Khamzat. Chimaev did get trolled for his attitude towards missing the weight.

Interestingly, Nate has a sunset clause in his UFC contract and by using it he can leave the UFC without fighting his last fight. But, fight fans would never want Nate to leave like this. Hence, Dustin Poirier took the charge of his hands to save the PPV.

After Khamzat Chimaev missed the weight, Dustin Poirier posted a picture of him weighing in on a machine. According to the picture Diamond’s current weight is 176 pounds.

Former UFC fighter Alan Jouban recently trained with Dustin. Even he tweeted that Dustin is on weight and is ready to work with UFC for the fight. Moreover, he is ready to fly to Vegas right away.

As of now, reports are surfacing that Nate Diaz vs Khamzat Chimaev’s fight has been called off and the Stockton native might agree to fight Tony Ferguson in the main event. However, what matters is fight fans get to bid a proper goodbye to Diaz in his last UFC fight.
