Sean O’Malley is currently one of the most popular fighters on the UFC roster. The 27-year-old bantamweight fighter has made a fan following of himself very quickly since he joined UFC. O’Malley is an energetic and hyperactive individual and it attracts a lot of attention which helps him to grow his audience. On top of that, O’Malley is quite active on the internet and follows memes and other pop culture events. This makes him way more related than the other fighters.
Inside the octagon, O’Malley is flamboyant and has given many entertaining fights. The fighter likes to exchange shots in the middle of the octagon and has the power to knock opponents down. Other than that, he has impressive reflexes as well.
In a recent episode of ‘The Anatomy of @ Fighter‘, O’Malley introduced his father and mother and spoke about their lives. When asked about where O’Malley gets his incredible reflexes from, his parents got into a friendly banter on taking the credit. O’Malley’s mother said she was the one responsible for it but O’Malley’s father wasn’t giving up that easily. “No the man. No, that shit’s on a different level. He got that from, maybe his real dad,” said O’Malley’s father while laughing. However, it was certain that Sean’s father was joking.
Sean O’Malley’s next fight against Petr Yan could determine his fate in the UFC
O’Malley was looking incredible until he ran into Marlon Vera at UFC 252 which O’Malley lost via TKO. However, since then, he has defeated three opponents in a row.
O’Malley is currently the #12 fighter in the division and is scheduled to fight Petr Yan who is the #1 ranked. The pair will take on each other at the main card of UFC 280 which will take place on October 22, 2022, inside the Etihad Arena, UAE.

It is a massive fight and O’Malley has an opportunity of a lifetime. If he beats Yan, O’Malley can easily get the title shot against Aljamain Sterling next. However, winning against the Russian won’t be an easy task. Nevertheless, it’s going to be an amazing match-up given both fighters are predominantly stickers.
