Bryce Mitchell is one of the peculiar fighters on the UFC roster. The featherweight contender recently stepped up on short notice to face off against Josh Emmet. Tucker Carlson recently interviewed Mitchell and the UFC fighter had an interesting story to tell.

It was not the first time that Carlson interviewed Mitchell. Mitchell had an incredible story to tell about what transpired after their first interview. This is what he said.

The first thing I did, when I turned my life to Christ is, I prayed for a wife. Basically, every day. And it was months and months and months, even a year went by… I go onto your show....... This really good-looking woman from Pennsylvania messages me on the Internet...... Now that woman is my wife. Now she is pregnant… So my first boy's name will be Tucker. His middle name will be James after my Papa. It would be Tucker James Mitchell.

Interestingly, it was the interview with Carlson that caused Mitchell to meet the woman who later became his wife. Now, his wife is pregnant with a boy and the couple would be naming the child Tucker James Mitchell. The first name is a tribute to Tucker Carlson himself. Mitchell, a believer in right-wing political ideology is a fan of Carlson.

Carlson attended UFC 295 along with Donald Trump and Kid Rock in New York. Joe Rogan called the trio along with UFC CEO Dana White, the right-wing Avengers. They walked out to Kid Rock’s song ‘American Badass’ and received the biggest applause from the arena.

Bryce Mitchell previews his short-notice fight against Josh Emmet

The main event of the prelims was a matchup between Josh Emmet and Giga Chikadze. However, Chikadze suffered a groin injury and pulled out. Bryce Mitchell accepted the short-notice call and will now face Emmet in the main card opener. This was after Ian Garry pulled out from his main card fight with Vicente Luque.

MMA journalist The Schmo interviewed Mitchell where the featherweight previewed his fight with Emmet. This is what he said.

There's just nobody that hits harder than Josh Emmett in the division, I don't think. So his victory path is very clear; he has to hit me very hard. And my path is very clear; I have to not get hit very hard.

Emmet, the hardest puncher in the division, is on a two-fight losing skid. However, he is a betting favorite for the fight against Mitchell. Nevertheless, Mitchell is in high spirits and looks for a title shot after a dominant finish over Emmet.
