Rose Namajunas and Carla Esparza went against each other at UFC 274 for the women’s Strawweight title however, the fight has left some terrible memories for both the fighters in the octagon. Rose and Carla fought for the second time in their career and everyone expected the fight to be a banger, however, the fight was rather underwhelming.
The fight is criticized by many of the fighters and the members of the MMA community and is claimed to be the worst title fight in UFC history. The fight was the co-main event of the UFC 274 and the fighters were expected to showcase their talent and their skills in the match. However, the fighters were reluctant to engage in the battle and made the fight a “slugfest”.
Following the fight, both the fighters had their opinions about the fight. Rose posted an apology on her Instagram account and said that she was sorry, and she even congratulated Carla on her victory. Carla, on the other side, revealed that she felt the fight could have been a great fight. However, she was sad that the fight did not go as everyone planned.
Carla, in her interview with MMA Hour, said: “You know, during the fight, I mean there was booze from the crowd; the fans weren’t happy with the fight and I knew that and it’s a bummer because you know this is business and it had the potential to be like a great fight. It was such a great story.”

As Carla and Rose went toe-to-toe against each other at UFC 274, both fighters were criticized a lot for their “boring” co-main title fight. Fans booed both the fighters during and after the fight and it had an impact on both the fighters.
Carla said that she stayed calm during the fight and she stuck to her game plan and did not let the fans affect her inside the octagon. In her interview with MMA Hour, she was asked about the fight and whether she watched it again.
Carla revealed she watched the fight again. However, she felt the commentators were biased against her during the fight and they supported Rose in the initial rounds of the fight.
Carla said: “To be honest, I felt that the commentary you know especially early in the fight was it was a combination of a little bias on the side for rose you know um and then but I also felt like they were being kind of real on a lot of notes about justified”
