“You mean the son Adesanya MADE you,” Cedric Doumbe responds back viciously to Paulo Costa’s mocking tweet

Cedric Doumbe- Paulo Costa

Paulo Costa seems to have found a combat rival outside of the UFC and the name is a legendary one, Cedric Doumbe. Costa, the former UFC middleweight title challenger just broke his 2-fight losing streak with a win over former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold last to last weekend at UFC 278. Costa has wins over the likes of Rockhold, Johnny Hendricks, Uriah Hall, Yoel Romero and many more. He is now looking forward to a new contract either inside or outside the UFC as his current fight contract nears an end.

Cedric Doumbe is a former kickboxer who was the world’s #1 welterweight kickboxer for several years according to various combat sports media outlets. He was a 2-time GLORY Kickboxing champion and out of his 83 fights, Doumbe has won 75 of them, 45 by the way of knockouts. Doumbe is now fixated to pursue a career in MMA and at the age of just 30, the French kickboxer is just getting started to enter a new prime. Doumbe is so far 2-0 in his overall MMA career, both wins by knockouts.

Very recently, Doumbe was amongst the many who commented after watching UFC 278 and claimed that once he steps into the Octagon, the main event fighters, Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman will be easy for him to beat. Adding to that, he also said that he can even go up to middleweight and beat Costa. Costa did respond back with a “Who the f**k is that guy” catchphrase and eventually received another backlash from Doumbe for what the former GLORY champion thought was a lacklustre performance from Costa’s side at UFC 278.

Now Costa got back to Doumbe and said “Hey guys please follow this dude, I’m begging you [praying hands emoji]. I’m to young to carry a son now. Cedric Doubledore go in peace my man.” Costa is basically indicating that Doumbe is a lesser-known name in the combat sports community and therefore urges his followers to follow Doumbe as well for some fame that he is desperately seeking according to Costa.

Doumbe launched back at Costa saying “You mean the son @stylebender made you in the cage that night ? Ok Bro i leave u alone , I said RELAX we’re not the same weigh and level so you safe … i can even teach you kick boxing . #peace #rickyMartin Doumbe here is referring to Costa’s first-ever professional loss in his MMA career against UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya back in September 2020.

What do you make of this back and forth between Costa and Doumbe? Who do you think would win if they ever get inside the Octagon? The UFC was very close to signing Doumbe but eventually, Doumbe revealed that the signing hasn’t been done yet since the money is not good enough for the French MMA fighter to get signed in right now. Do you think Doumbe will become a UFC champion in the future? Will Costa get a second title shot in his UFC career?
