“He got beat by a white belt” Charles Oliveira gives a fierce response to Brazillian Middleweight Paulo Costa trolling him
Charles responded to Paulo's taunts after a long time of ignoring him
Paulo Costa has been on a rampage against Charles Oliveira ever since and even before the champion was stripped off his title at UFC 274. The middleweight has gone from posting ridiculous memes about the champion to even mocking Oliveira’s very identity of being someone who made it despite being from the favelas of Brazil. Now the UFC lightweight champion has finally responded and he is on his edge.
In a Portuguese interview for UFC Brazil, the star was asked about how he felt watching Paulo Costa troll him on social media especially Twitter, where Oliveira is equally active although he’s more wholesome all around. Costa was criticized by former Light Heavyweight Champion and fellow Brazilian, Glover Texiera in the lead up to UFC 276.
Teixeira lashed out at Costa for disrespecting fellow Brazilians on the UFC, telling that Costa uses it as a shield to ward off the fact that he’s not very successful, he said of Costa’s mind, “Damn man, this is the way. I’m really not winning a shit, not even hitting the weight or doing any shit. I’m like the worst professional, so what am I going to do here?'” alluding to how creating controversy is the only way Costa can stay relevant.
Charles Oliveira dismisses Paulo Costa’s comments
Oliveira had the same feelings towards Costa. He too felt the fighter was pretty unprofessional for missing weight by wide margins and also trolling for attention to be “his thing. ” The former champion said, “Since he talked about me, I’m going to talk about him as well, he doesn’t know sh*t” as he described how nor Costa or anyone else on Twitter knows what was the issue he had with his weight
“He keeps talking a lot of nonsense and doesn’t do anything” said the champ about how he feels Costa of all people has zero right to criticize any man’s championship run. Charles the gave Costa a taste of the trash-talking medicine saying, “He came in as a Black Belt Big Guy and got finished by a white belt”
Oliveira has been waiting for the UFC to offer him a chance at regaining the title he was stripped off of at UFC 274. While many anticipate Islam Makhachev to be the one who’s next in line, Conor McGregor cutting the line for a money fight can not be ruled out either since the Irishman is back to his kicking ways.
Costa meanwhile is scheduled to face off against former UFC and Strikeforce Middleweight Champion luke Rockhold. Rockhold has accused Costa multiple times of trying to get the fight cancelled or postponed due to his unusual demands on weight misses and penalties.
