A fight between Charles Oliveira and Conor McGregor is a highly anticipated matchup between two of the biggest names in the UFC. The two fighters have been going back and forth on social media of late. Oliveira recently appeared on the MMA Hour podcast hosted by MMA reporter Ariel Helwani. During the interview, Oliveira gave his thoughts on McGregor.

When asked about a potential fight with McGregor, Oliveira said, “I’m here I’m waiting for him. All he needs to do is tell me the place and the time and I will be there”. Oliveira feels ready and confident for a fight against McGregor in the potential future. The Brazilian’s striking efficiency and submission skill will prove as a challenge for the Irishman.

Oliveira was also asked by Helwani if he believes that McGregor truly wants to fight him. Oliveira replied, “I think so, otherwise why would he be talking.” McGregor has a tendency to change his mind about his opponents as soon as he gets the opportunity. He also talked about his plans to fight McGregor before retirement, he said: “We’ll see, I’m here, where’s Conor?”.

The two are also going back and forth on social media. Oliveira and McGregor would face off in a clash of styles. Oliveira’s strategy would be to wrestle McGregor to the ground and submit him. McGregor would try to keep the fight standing and knock out Oliveira with his striking.

The fight between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev at UFC 280 was a very upsetting night for Oliveira fans. After his loss to Makhachev, Oliveira trained himself and improved his skills. He fought No.2 ranked lightweight Beneil Dariush and knocked him out in the first round itself. His dominant performance earned him rematch with Makhachev for the title.

During an interview with the MMA Hour, Oliveira revealed his ploy to trick the UFC to relocate the fight to his home country Brazil. Do Bronxs revealed his plan by saying “What I knew is that the UFC was planning to maybe have a fight in Brazil in November. So I was trying to push it to November. I was playing with them. Obviously, it didn’t work so now I’m fighting in October, but that’s what I was doing.”

Their first fight was a dominant performance by Makhachev, who showed that he is the rightful heir to the UFC Lightweight Championship. Oliveira is looking to make a statement in the rematch and earn back his title.
