The animosity between Draymond Green and Rudy Gobert got a little too heated on the NBA court recently. During the basketball match, things got physical between the players of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors. That was when Green pulled in for a rear naked choke amidst the altercation. Now, UFC submission specialist Charles Oliveira reacted to the incident.

The famous MMA spokesperson Ariel Helwani posted the viral video of Green choking Gobert on X. He captioned that Green was looking like a young ‘Do Bronx’. Now, Charles Oliveira replied to the comment. Further when Helwani asked whether it was a good technique. Oliveira retweeted a comical response from a fan. Here is what it said:

Where was Marc Goddard when we needed him.

‘Do Bronx’ has finished a lot of matches with the move Green pulled on Gobert, an RNC. Recently, he finished Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier in title fights with an RNC. However, he lost the title due to a weight miss in his fight against Gaethje. Later, he lost to Islam Makhachev at UFC 280 and the rematch was booked after Do Bronx got a win over Beneil Dariush. But he pulled out due to an injury in training just 11 days before the fight.

Will Charles Oliveira get a rematch at Islam Makhachev after pulling out from the fight?

Charles Oliveira is a fan favorite who has a style of kill or be killed. He was scheduled to face Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title in UFC 294. However, he withdrew citing an injury that happened while sparring.

The next contender to Oliveira was Justin Gaethje. He was offered the short notice fight but he declined. This led Alexander Volkanovski to step in on short notice to fight for the lightweight gold.

Now, there’s confusion on who would challenge for the belt next, Charles Oliveira or Justin Gaethje. Both of them are running their campaigns to get the title shot. But UFC CEO Dana White earlier stated that the Do Bronx getting injured was an unfortunate accident and he deserved the title fight.

Justin Gaethje said that he would like to fight for the title next but if the UFC books Oliveira vs. Makhachev he was willing to wait for his turn. So, Oliveira would most likely be the next challenger for the lightweight gold. He would look to turn the tide in their rematch.
