Charles Oliveira has set his mind on fighting Conor McGregor at the end of the year. At UFC 274, Oliveira was stripped of the title for missing the weight limit by 0.5 pounds. But the fighter defeated Justin Gaethje easily to remain the king of the lightweight division. After the fight, Oliveira called out none other than Conor McGregor for a fight. The call-out was extremely shocking but made sense in the end.

Oliveira is aware of the fact that many fans are going to criticize his decision to give McGregor the title opportunity. But at the same time, it’s hard to ignore that the fight is a huge opportunity for the Brazilian to make a huge fight purse.

Charles Oliveira recently did an interview with MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn at the UFC X Radio row. During the interview, Oliveira discussed his future plans and who he wants to fight next.

While talking about it Charles Oliveira clearly stated that he wants to fight McGregor as it will help him earn big money. The Brazilian explained that he deserves to choose his next opponent because of his achievement and he is choosing
McGregor. Oliveira also revealed that the UFC hasn’t told him about his next fight but will most probably be at the end of the year. He will like to fight in January in his home country Brazil.

“If I must choose, it’d be Conor McGregor, as the guy who is putting the money in my bank account. If I’m going to choose, I’m going to choose Conor McGregor….He cuts the line. I think I deserve to choose and I’m choosing Conor because of everything I’ve done to make some money for my family and for everything. If I’m going to choose, I’m choosing Conor…. The UFC hasn’t told me anything yet. I want to fight by the end of the year, but if it’s at the end of the year, really, I would prefer to fight in January in Brazil, if that event happens.”

Oliveira is already on his way to being one of the greatest fighters and building a legacy, it won’t be harmful to him to take his chance to earn some more money.
