“I get sad when I’m not the underdog”- Charles Oliveira Would Have Been “Sad” if he wouldn’t have been the underdog against Islam Makhachev
Islam Makhachev- Charles Oliveira
Due to his inability to make weight before UFC 274 last month, Charles Oliveira is no longer the UFC lightweight champion, although it is anticipated that he will attempt to win the championship again in a subsequent fight. Conor McGregor would compete against Oliveira for the vacant belt if Oliveira had his way.
Makhachev is 10-1 in the UFC’s lightweight division and has won each of his past 10 matches. He TKO’d Bobby Green in a last-minute catchweight match this year. He offered Dan Hooker, Thiago Moises, and Drew Dober the previous year.
When asked about Islam, Olivera stated, “I’ve never ran from a fight and the lightweight champion is called Charles Oliveira. Is Islam a very tough guy? Yep. Did he fight big names? No. He’s on a big streak, but who did he fight?”

The lightweight title will be determined between Charles and Islam, two of the top grapplers in the UFC, on October 22 at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Despite his manager Ali Abdelaziz’s assurances to the contrary, Makhachev rejected to sign the agreement.
The former champion Oliveira used an emoji of a pen on Twitter on Saturday to indicate that he had signed. Oliveira had to withdraw from his fight with Conor McGregor at UFC 274 on May 6 because he didn’t make weight.
Charles came out as an underdog for this match-up to which he stated, “I’m way better than him, and now we’ll see who’s the best. I’m very happy to be the underdog in this fight so everybody makes money. That’s the reality. I get sad when I’m not the underdog so people don’t make money.”
When these two players do ultimately face off, it will be one of the most difficult matches of their individual careers and should be a fantastic stylistic exhibition.
