Khamzat Chimaev is currently on the sidelines after suffering a hand injury in his last bout with Kamaru Usman. Also, he recently shared photos of himself in the hospital on X but deleted it afterward for unknown reasons. As such, fans were concerned about the health of ‘Borz’ and awaited his return. Now, a video of him went viral on X that involved Chimaev’s reaction to a fan asking him a question about the YouTuber KSI.
The video was only of five seconds in which a fan questioned Khamzat Chimaev whether he could beat KSI in a fight. As such, a confused Chimaev answered “Who is this brother?” The reaction was genuine and resulted in a hilarious clip. Although KSI was closely knitted to the UFC as a co-founder of PRIME, (The official sports drink of the UFC) he and Chimaev haven’t met once.

Khamzat Chimaev rose to the top of the UFC but has only fought once in the last year. It was against Kamaru Usman and he won the fight via majority decision. Later, he revealed a torn ligament in his hand and had to rest for a while. As such, an ideal return date for ‘Borz’ would be UFC 300.
Khamzat Chimaev shares photos of his illness and gives his thoughts on his return
Khamzat Chimaev suffered a torn ligament in his right hand during the fight with Kamaru Usman at UFC 294. However, according to reports he was to avoid surgery but later went under the knife. As such, he recently shared a few photos on his X handle showcasing his condition at the hospital. In addition to his hand surgery, Chimaev also revealed an unspecified illness that restricted him from a quick turnaround.
In the now-deleted tweet, Khamzat Chimaev shared he was itching to return to fight again and start training. However, he unveiled he wasn’t able to because of his sickness and injury. As such, the photos he shared had him with a bloated face and bloodshot eyes.
This led the fans to worry about his health. However, these were all photos of when he underwent surgery as he was now completely fine. Recently, he was spotted at a charity event in the UK.
Khamzat Chimaev was promised a title shot if he won his fight with Kamaru Usman. But, due to his injury, the UFC gave Dricus Du Plessis the opportunity at the title. As such, Dricus Du Plessis takes on Sean Strickland at UFC 297. So, Chimaev might face the winner on his return or fight any top contenders to solidify his spot in the middleweight division.
