Marlon Vera is gearing up for his title fight against Sean O’Malley at UFC 299. In the lead-up to this, Vera lashed out at former champion Aljamain Sterling. This was because Sterling was spreading rumors that Vera had a difficult camp. Sterling claimed to have heard rumblings of troubles in Vera’s training camp.

Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera did not take Sterling’s comments kindly. At the UFC 299 media day, he fired back forcefully. He believed that Sterling was attention-hungry and was using this as a way to get it. This is what he said:

Aljo, dude, he’s so fcking hungry for attention. He never got attention in the UFC. He became a world champion, he defended, and he got booed in fcking New Jersey against f*cking Cejudo. Who gets booed against Cejudo? Holy sht, people f*cking hate you.

Aljamain Sterling had recently lost his belt to Sean O’Malley. The Ecuadorian contender questioned how Sterling could have insider details. He revealed that they had no outsiders in the camp. Chito promised his performance would silence any doubters come UFC 299.
