“Fat C***” Chito Vera is furious over Petr Yan refusing to fight him and spend time on vacations instead
Vera and Yan have a deep rooted hate for each other
No one is safe from Chito Vera, not even former Champion Petr Yan. The fastest rising contender at Bantamweight reveals that Petr Yan avoided a fight with him as Vera prepares for his biggest fight yet, against Dominick Cruz.
Chito is on a hot 3-fight winning streak and wishes to make the most of it by topping it off with a win over the former champion and divisional GOAT contender, Dominick Cruz. This however is not a fact that is lost on Chito. Knowing Dom is the most high level of talent he’s faced since Jose Aldo, Chito could be in for a fun night or a long one.
One fighter he’s not afraid of or considers worth the trouble is a former champion,] Yan. In his most recent interview with the MMA Hour, he revealed that the Russian recently said no to a fight against Marlon in favor of Sean O’Malley.
Yan was welcomed as the homecoming king in his last fight, a man who was sure to dethrone Aljamain Sterling for good and take back his title. Every fan and critic was awestruck when Aljo bagged the second and third rounds comfortably disturbing the balance at Bantamweight.
Chito Vera lambasts Petr Yan for refusing to fight
Since his loss to Aljamain in their rematch, Yan has taken time off with his family and has finally agreed to a return date set for Abu Dhabi in October. While his opponent Sean O’Malley is an untested prospect, many are surprised what even led to the UFC setting up this fight.
Chito has already beaten O’Malley and hence his frustration is understandable when Petr turns down a fight against him in favor of O’Malley. Chito made these feelings be known as he appeared on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.
He said, “They called me to fight Petr Yan in Boston Massachusetts on August 13th,” revealed Vera, stating that Cruz wasn’t the first option to headline UFC: San Diego. “Petr Yan, that fat c*** refused the fight because he was eating Pizza in Italy,” he said.
“If I’m the easy money, why can’t you just say, ‘F*** IT. I finished my slice and now I’ll kick your ass” said Vera as he dismissed Yan for ducking a fight. Vera is angry as win over Cruz might put him in title contention while a win over Yan was sure to do so.
Yan meanwhile is in preparation for the easiest fight he’s had since 2020 as he prepares to welcome the Suga Show to the top of the division.
