Sean O’Malley and Ryan Garcia have gone back and forth hyping up a potential fight between them. The boxer seemed supremely confident in his skills to cross over to MMA and beat the bantamweight champion. However, O’Malley’s opponent, Marlon Vera, aka Chito Vera, has a different take.

Ryan Garcia called himself a ‘Natural’ in an interview, insinuating he can learn and do MMA easily. Further, he mentioned an instance of beating his bodyguard, who was a wrestler, to prove his point. Looking into Garcia, Chito Vera trashed him. He didn’t give the boxer a chance in MMA. Here is what Vera said:

He says he’s a natural, ‘I just beat up my body guard.' F***ing fire your body guard then he’s sh**. I respect boxing, I don’t think I can beat a [boxing] world champion my size. I don’t go and beat LeBron [James], Tiger Woods, you don’t beat specialists on their stuff when you are in a different sport... I guess its all just talk.

Further, Chito Vera didn’t think anyone crossing over from one sport to another could beat a specialist in their game. It remained partly true as many MMA fighters have crossed over to boxing, but only a few have had success.

For example, Conor McGregor, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, Francis Ngannou, and many others tried boxing, but no one came out victorious. But, atleast they earned more money than they did in MMA. As such, Vera questioned Garcia’s thought process for wanting to compete in MMA.

Although things heated up between Ryan Garcia and Sean O’Malley, one has to wait to see whether they fight. As of now, ‘Suga’ puts his bantamweight title on the line against Chito Vera at UFC 299. This fight headlines the stacked PPV card next week at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

Marlon Vera will fight Sean O’Malley for the bantamweight title at UFC 299. Ahead of his first title shot, ‘Chito’ compared O’Malley’s latest opponent, Aljamain Sterling and himself. As such, he concluded he was better in the striking department and would make ‘Suga’ quit.

Firstly, he acknowledged that Sean O’Malley’s confidence would be high, given that he beat Aljamain Sterling. However, Chito Vera claimed he had better striking skills and would stand and bang, unlike Sterling. As such, he believed O’Malley would eventually lose his grit and fall. Check out what Chito said below:

Having beat Sean O’Malley earlier, Chito Vera has some knowledge about his skillsets and techniques. As such, he looked forward to beating him again and becoming the UFC champion. This fight goes down at UFC 299 as the main attraction.
