Marlon Chito Vera will look to taste undisputed title glory at UFC 299. At UFC 299, he will have to face Sean O’Malley, a familiar foe he defeated prior at UFC 252. Vera is a family man. He has three kids with his wife: two daughters and a son. His son, Nacho, recently gave him a custom-made Kobe Bryant t-shirt.

Vera showed the custom-made t-shirt in the recent episode of UFC 299 Embedded. He showed appreciation for his son’s work. The t-shirt had ‘Kobe B’ written on the back with Bryant’s jersey number, 24, below it. Vera even revealed why his son wrote Kobe Bryant’s name on the back of the t-shirt. Vera even shouted at his son about the t-shirt. This is what he said.

Bryant embodied his self-proclaimed ‘Mamba Mentality,’ which is the NBA star’s synonym for never giving up and hard work. Vera revealed himself to have appreciated Bryant’s mentality. The late NBA star was no stranger to the UFC as he had bought shares in the UFC when Endeavour purchased the promotion from the Fertitta brothers.

The death of Kobe Bryant in an unfortunate helicopter accident shook the world. UFC CEO Dana White spoke very highly after news broke of his untimely death. White even revealed that Bryant was a friend of himself and the sport of the MMA.

Former champion predicts stoppage victory for Marlon Vera at UFC 299

After losing to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 298, Henry Cejudo partnered with Kamaru Usman for a new YouTube podcast, Pound for Pound. The duo provided predictions for UFC 299 in their recent show episode. Usman picked Sean O’Malley to defend the bantamweight title at UFC 299. However, Cejudo did not agree with the assessment.

Cejudo picked Chito Vera to win the fight if he had the correct game plan. With the correct game plan, Cejudo predicted that Vera could take over the fight from rounds 3 to 5. Moreover, he predicted that Vera could finish O’Malley in the fifth and final round.

Despite a past victory, Vera is the betting underdog against O’Malley. This is particularly after Aljamain Sterling revealed that he had inside information that Vera did not have a good training camp. Sterling picked Vera to win earlier but has since changed his pick to O’Malley.
