“The Action Man” Chris Curtis took on #8 “The Joker” Jack Hermansson at UFC London in a middleweight bout in the co-main event. Chris was fighting a ranked opponent for the first time in the UFC while Hermansson was looking to get back to the win column after his last loss at the hands of Sean Strickland.
Hermansson was originally scheduled to fight Darren Till in the Co-main event at UFC London. Till withdrew from the fight due to an injury. Chris Curtis was brought in as a replacement for Till. Hermansson took a safe approach in the fight and fought at range. The Joker kept his range to avoid punches from Curtis and utilized an array of punches and kicks to score points.
The 3-round fight was scored in the favour of Jack Hermansson. He scored 29-28, 30-27, 29-28 on all three judge’s score cards and got the victory. Hermansson bounced back after his loss to Sean Strickland at UFC Fight Night: Hermansson vs Strickland. On the other hand, Chris suffered his first loss after his three octagon victories and 8 fight win streak. There was also some post-fight beef between Hermansson and Curtis that is now resolved.

After heavy criticism from the MMA community, Curtis apologized and took responsibility for his loss. He also congratulated Hermansson for the win and squashed the beef.
Curtis later tweeted after rewatching the fight, “Had teammates and a lot of MMA Twitter telling me to go back and rewatch the fight. Finally did. Less upset with myself. Not my best performance but far from my worst. Looked way worse in my head actually. Just a flat performance. Disappointing sure. But yeah. On to the next.”
