“Not afraid to risk a loss”- Chris Curtis highlights why he accepted the Jack Hermansson fight under daunting circumstances

Chris Curtis reveals why he is so eager to fight Jack Hermansson under conditions which are not in his favour. Hermansson was scheduled to fight Darren Till on the co-main event of UFC London inside the O2 Arena on 23 July. It was a highly anticipated fight as Till is a huge star in London. However, it was announced that Till has pulled out his name from the fight due to an injury.
Till in a recent interview with BlockAsset also admitted that he is not fully prepared mentally and is not in his 100 percent. He said:
“I’m at a f*****ng low point. I feel like I’m in a Tyson Fury moment. Obviously I’m not drinking and taking drugs. That’s not my way, but I still feel like that. It’s just such a fng depressing time for me at the moment.”
After till withdrew his name, Chris Curtis took this chance to replaced the Brit on the fight.

Many fight fans were skeptical about Curtis taking the fight with Hermansson without a proper training camp. The fighter was asked a lot about his decision about the fight on social media and Curtis made a tweet to share his thoughts.
Curtis in the tweet stated that this fight is a huge opportunity for him to shine. The fighter revealed that he is aware that has a huge disadvantage but he is ready to take those risks. According to Curtis, taking chances with are not in your favour is a way to rise to the top.
” So to everyone asking, I took this fight because this is a huge opportunity. I know the circumstances are not in my favor but that’s life guys. I am not afraid to risk a loss because I refuse to let fear keep me from taking risks. Risks are the only way forward.
Who dares wins,” wrote Curtis.
Curtis recently made his UFC debut and is on a three fight win streak and will like to continue this momentum further. Hermansson ranks #8 in the middleweight division and a win against him would surely put Curtis into the top ten fighters in the division. Although his preparation might fall short, there is always a chance to get a win in this bout for Curtis.
