Chris Curtis Jack Hermansson
Chris Curtis fought Jack Hermansson in a three round middleweight bout which turned out to be an amazing fight. The fight was originally scheduled to take place between Darren Till refuses and Hermansson but the Brit decided to pull his name out due to an injury.
Curtis took this opportunity and stepped in and replaced Till in the fight. Curtis, who only had three UFC fights under his belt, thought this could be a great chance to rise above in the rankings. However, it wasn’t night the fighter would be proud of as Hermansson absolutely dominated the bout. The difference in experience was clearly visible as Hermansson took the safe approach and systemically outworked Curtis.
At the end of the third round, Hermansson secured a deserving unanimous decision win with scores of 29-28, 29-28, and 30-27. It was a frustrating moment for Curtis as the fighter flipped Hermansson on his way out.

The fighter revealed that it was not the night he expected and he didn’t perform to the best of his abilities. Curtis explained that he is unhappy but has not suffered any severe injuries.
“Frustrating night for sure. Couldn’t get going. Just felt flat. Nobody ever wants to be the guy to admit it but it looks like tonight I choked. Couldn’t make the adjustments and let myself get frustrated. Sucks guys. Feels bad. But no injuries, no damage. A lot to learn. “
The fighter stated that he didn’t want the fight to be turned out this way and he couldn’t prosecute the proper game plan.
” Going forward. Wasn’t the fight I expected or wanted but from a technical standpoint he had the right game plan and I just wasn’t prepared or able to adjust. Frustrating to travel to the other side of the planet to fucking choke in your biggest moment. “
Curtis accepted that in this fight game anything can happen and things can go south anytime. It was one of those fights for the fighter which he failed to capitalize.
Curtis took his shot with high risk and it was expected but at the same time there was always a chance to fall short. As a non ranked fighter it could have been an amazing win but this will give the fighter a reality check. It will be interesting to see how he is going to start over for his next fight.
