Ciryl Gane truly believes his performance against Tai Tuivasa should be enough to get him the next shot at the title. The French heavyweight is down to any of the top heavyweights for the heavyweight belt next, which he once missed to win.
UFC Paris was an absolute stunner of an event and the big dogs in the headliner surely came through with the best fight of the night. Ciryl Gane and Tai Tuivasa promised a banger and delivered as per. The two heavyweights put on a dog fight and showed great heart from both sides. However, the former interim heavyweight champ had the skills to put “Bam Bam” away in the third round.
Gane was coming off a title fight defeat against the heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou at UFC 270. He became the interim champion last year with a win against Derrick Lewis but failed to become the undisputed champion. Gane believes he was very close to becoming the champ and with a performance like that against Tuivasa, “Bon Gamin” is determined to fight for the belt. Be it the interim title, or the undisputed title, Ciryl wants the call.

A lot of reports suggest that the former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is set to return to the octagon at UFC 282 against the former light heavyweight champ, Jon Jones. This fight has been in the making for a long time and the fans have been wanting to see the former pound-for-pound champ make his heavyweight debut. Gane is very open to the idea of fighting the winner of Stipe and Jones which is reported to be for the interim heavyweight title.
“You need this type of performance to have some hype, to have some power, and a discussion,” Ciryl said on why his win against Tuivasa is important. “That’s why I say, now, I want to go back to the belt, I want my chance another time. Because I was really close and now I want to go back there,” said Gane calling for another title shot.
Ciryl is currently 11-1 in his career and has already climbed to the top of the heavyweight division in a short time. The Frenchman is one of the finest strikers in the heavyweight division as seen.
