“What a GUN FIGHT,” Ciryl Gane reminisces memorable war against Tai Tuivasa in his hometown in a heartfelt post

Ciryl Gane and Tai Tuivasa

Ciryl Gane is an amazing fighter with lethal skills in his arsenal, but he has a heart of gold for sure. Gane, the former interim-UFC heavyweight champion, is the first ever UFC champion to come out of France, interim or undisputed. He is 11-1 in his overall MMA career and his lone loss comes to current heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou. Gane recently bounced back from his loss by knocking out Tai Tuivasa in the former’s home country in a UFC event that is the first-ever hosted in France.

Nearly 2 and a half weeks later from UFC Paris, Gane posts an admirable post on Twitter, in which he tributes his last opponent, Tai Tuivasa, who lost his first fight ever in 2 years and before that, was winning 5 straight fights, all by the way of knockouts. Tuivasa’s biggest win came against former UFC title challenger Derrick Lewis. Gane wrote in the captions of his Twitter post: “What a gunfight that was… I loved every second of it! Thank you @bambamtuivasa, you made me a better fighter.”

Gane brought something to the table that is closely never seen in the heavyweight division of any combat sports organization. Forget the UFC. Gane, a 250 plus lbs fighter standing 6’5″ tall, moves as lightly as a welterweight on his feet and is so good with the fight distancing that in history, Gane never got knocked down until Tuivasa caught him. What do you make of Gane’s post for Tuivasa? Do you think he is the nicest fighter in the UFC? Do you think Gane will become the first undisputed UFC champion from France in the future? Indeed, the UFC heavyweight division is in a tough position of match-making today.
