“What’s Happening”- Ciryl Gane reveals how it felt getting dropped for the first time in his career at UFC Paris

Ciryl Gane was knocked down by Tuivasa in the second round
On a historic day for the French MMA, Ciryl Gane defeated Australian brawler Tai Tuivasa to get back to the win column at UFC Paris. Gane was a heavy favourite going into the fight. The fight card was the UFC’s debut in France.
Gane recently suffered his first loss in MMA at the hands of Francis Ngannou in a title unification bout. The Frenchman was fighting for the unification of the Heavyweight title after he defeated Derrick Lewis to claim the Interim title at UFC 265.
On the other hand, Tuivasa was on a 5 fight-winning streak. He had KO’d his last five opponents in a devastating fashion. The main event fight last weekend was an exciting matchup which received a huge appreciation from the French crowd.
Although, Gane won the fight in ‘Bon Gamin Style‘ and as promised he finished the fight in his home country. He was hurt badly by Tuivasa in the second round. After a brutal hook landed on Gane’s temple he came crashing to the mat, the fight almost looked over. However, Bon Gamin survived the onslaught to bag the win in the third round.

After the fight, while talking to the media, Ciryl revealed the feeling of getting Knocked down for the first time in his MMA carrier. He also stated that has never been hit that hard before in his MMA carrier. The Frenchman also stated that he just saw his opponent’s leg and grabbed them to survive.
In a conversation with BT Sports, when asked about the pressure in the second round when Tuivasa knocked him down in such a fashion it almost looked like the fight was about to end.
Ciryl responded to the question by stating, “This is the first time I have felt that, So you don’t feel when it touch you but you feel when your ass touch the ground. Like Oh! What’s happening, Like F**k and I catch his legs and I escape because of that. After just three or four seconds I was back and I was really back for finish this monster.”
In the end, the main event resulted in huge entertainment for French MMA fans. With such a huge statement win over a top contender, the Frenchman is now aiming for a second title shot. It will be interesting to see who he fights next.
