Former UFC interim-heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane has set his eyes on one place he staunchly wishes to travel and the name of the country might surprise certain Asian fans. Gane, who last fought facing defeat for the first time in his MMA career when he lost via unanimous decision to current heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou at UFC 270 back in January 2022, is back this September on UFC’s first-ever fight card in Paris when he faces Australian heavyweight Tai Tuivasa.
Gane, who was the first-ever French MMA fighter to hold a UFC belt, has been in the sport for just 4 years and already managed to capture an interim belt once and also have victories over the likes of Junior Dos Santos, Derrick Lewis, Alexander Volkov, Jairzinho Rozenstruik and many more. Gane is formerly a Muay Thai fighter who was also into various sports in his teenage and early twenties like football and basketball.

In a special segment by the UFC production titled No MMA Questions Allowed, Gane talks about the singer he grew up listening to, what song he would sing at a Christmas party hosted by his gym, something that improved his life but wishes he did sooner and much more. Gane was then finally asked what is the one place he would like to visit.
“I did a lot of [travelling], Asia, America, North, South,” says Gane with a beginner’s English since his first language is French. “Maybe [I would love to visit] India, the culture is really special, really different [from] everywhere in the world and I never went there, so maybe India,“ he concludes.
