Claressa Shields is one of the most well-known names in boxing since her gold medal-winning performance at the London Olympics in 2012. Subsequently, Shields is widely recognized as one of the most prominent female boxers currently in the sport. Shields started her professional boxing career in 2016 and has amassed a net worth of $4 million from her successful career.

Shields calls herself the “GWOAT,” and she’s the first female boxer to hold undisputed titles in three different weight classes. Hence, as a professional boxer, she became the light middleweight champion, middleweight champion, and super middleweight champion. Recently, Sheilds was spotted on the red carpet for Alvarez vs. Charlo fight night and had an interview with The Schmo. Subsequently, Schmo asked Sheilds about the upcoming heavyweight UFC fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic. The interviewer also asked about Jones’ retirement, and Shields stated, “I don’t think Jon Bones can retire. He is so much of an animal. What is he going to do without fighting?”

Furthermore, Sheilds stated that Jones could not retire because he was too much of an animal not to fight. Hence, Sheilds felt that Jones needed to train and fight to appease the animalistic nature inside of him. Subsequently, Shields was confident that Jones would win against Miocic and continue fighting until his body was depleted.

In addition, Sheilds knows Jones personally and has even trained with him before her MMA debut. Furthermore, Jones offered Shields his assistance if she transitioned from boxing to MMA several years before her MMA debut.

Hence, their 10-year-old rivalry remains quite intense since both Shields and Marshall were at the pinnacle of women’s boxing. Subsequently, Shields attained her revenge by winning the bout via unanimous decision. In addition, Sheilds was able to defend her WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBF belts, and she also received Marshall’s WBO belt. The outcome was Marshall’s first loss in her professional career, and Shields became the undisputed middleweight champion of the world. There are talks of a rematch bout between Sheilds and Marshall in the octagon instead of a boxing ring.

Marshall revealed that she tried to secure a rematch against the self-proclaimed ‘GWOAT’ Sheilds after their fight. Furthermore, after announcing her contract with the PFL recently, Marshall shocked the world because she never spoke about MMA. However, she received a lucrative deal and wished to fight her rival in another sport.
