Khabib Nurmagomedov's coach hints Tony Ferguson vs Khabib TUF might happen
We might after all get to see Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson pair opposite in a new season of The Ultimate Fighter. According to coach Javier Mendez, the former lightweight champion is very much interested in reigniting his rivalry with “El Cucuy”.
Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson is one matchup that the entire MMA community wishes would become reality. Though we might not actually get to see the two lightweights fight each other in the octagon ever again, there is a possibility that the two superstars could pair opposite each other as coaches for a new season of The Ultimate Fighter.
Both, Tony and Khabib have gone back and forth with each other on Twitter and seemed to have come to an agreement with the idea of the show. Javier Mendez, the head coach of American Kickboxing Academy revealed in a recent interview with Submission Radio that the Dagestani fighter is working on making The Ultimate Fighter season happen.

“Khabib was excited. He was excited about it. He said he would like to talk to Dana when he was in Vegas and I don’t know if he talked to Dana,” said coach Javier talking to Submission Radio. “Yeah, Khabib was hundred percent interested and I’d be interested. I think that the fans would be interested. I think the fans would be interested. I think they would tune in.”
Javier guarantees that there would be problems between the two fighters and it would make for good television. Khabib and Tony were supposed to fight for the lightweight belt on different occasions but it was like the fight was to be “cursed”. The two fighters took turns pulling out from the fight due to unfortunate circumstances which led that matchup to remain just a dream for many fans.
There is no doubt that Khabib vs Tony as TUF coaches would be the best possible season in TUF history. And who knows, maybe one thing leads to another, and we might get an actual fight?
