UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov announced his retirement from professional fighting in 2020. Many fans, including Dana White, attempted to push Khabib into returning to MMA. But Khabib’s coach explains how only one man could accomplish that.
Khabib Nurmagomedov has an undefeated record in MMA. The biggest win of his life was against Conor McGregor. The rivalry between the two fighters was iconic, and the hatred between the two men is still remembered to this day, seven years later. Khabib’s retirement was a confirmation for fans that there would never be a rematch between the fighters. Conor McGregor decided to continue his career searching for redemption, but this did not play out well for the Irishman.
According to recent reports by The Sun news network, Khabib’s trainer has revealed that the MMA world’s only hope for Khabib’s return is if Conor McGregor puts on a masterclass against Dustin Poirier in 2021. Unfortunately, as we all know, McGregor did not have what it took to beat Dustin Poirier in the Octagon.
This greatly disappointed Khabib, as he hoped to be impressed by McGregor to make a comeback, especially with the UFC pushing him for it. Khabib Nurmagomedov even stated in Abu Dhabi, “If someone shows me something exciting, then maybe I’ll come back.”
It’s safe to say that Khabib Nurmagomedov’s return to fight Conor McGregor would rock the MMA world. But the current McGregor cannot fight against an undisputed champion like Khabib Nurmagomedov. Sometimes, the truth does not always have a fairytale ending.

MMA world debates between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira
Charles Oliveira has become one of the best lightweight fighters in the world after his recent success. He has defeated champions like Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler, and Justin Gaethje in exciting fashion. Fans love the Brazilian for his flare and frequent finishes in fights. This success has led him to be compared to a UFC legend who retired a few years ago, Khabib Nurmagomedov. “The Eagle” dominated the lightweight division for years before Oliveira stepped into the Octagon.
Charles Oliveira is indeed a promising fighter with true brilliance in the octagon. But after his latest loss to Islam Makhachev, the fighter does have a chip on his shoulder. Khabib Nurmagomedov has also been at the top of his division for much longer than Oliveira, which will play a role in the debate.
