Colby Covington lost his third welterweight title contention bout, at UFC 296. His most recent attempt was against Leon Edwards, which saw “Chaos” fumble throughout. However, the bold and unapologetic fighter has kept his unabashed behavior intact. Covington had desecrated Ewdards’ deceased father in the build-up. Recently, he doubled down on his trash-talking yet again. Now, he has set sights on Paddy Pimblett as the next fodder.

“The Baddy” recently improved to a 5-0 statistic after taking on veteran Tony Ferguson successfully, on the same card. But Covington had dismissed the chances of the 21-3-0 from Liverpool as a 155lber. Speaking to Patrick Bet-David and co-hosts Adam Sosnick, and Vincent Oshana on the PBD Podcast Episode 343, he said:

Paddy … if he didn’t have a bowl cut and an accent, nobody would care about Paddy. That’s the only reason they like him, is a bowl cut and an accent. He’s not even a good fighter. He’ll never be a top-30 fighter. The closest he’ll ever get to fighting for a world title is if he got on his knees.

Speaking at the UFC 296 pre-fight conference, “The Baddy” shamed Covington for dissing “Rocky” and his father. Later on he, along with many other peers expressed their disgust at the behavior. Even Jon Jones and Sean Strickland have seconded the notion, of him being the “Most heinous human being.

With victories over Ferguson, Jared Gordon, and Jordan Leavitt, Pimblett has surged up in rankings. But Covington thinks that the fighter isn’t fighting for the title gold any time soon.

Colby Covington snubs and fires back at Michael Chandler’s criticism

Colby “Chaos” Covington failed his third title attempt after UFC 245 and UFC 268. His slow yet unsteady performance against reigning welterweight Leon Edwards, at UFC 296, has caught much flack. Recently, the fighter snubbed Paddy Pimblett’s hopeful aspiration of ever fighting for title contention. However, another lightweight who is consequently much closer to the #1 contender spot has gotten into the mix.

Bellator star Michael Chandler recently dissed “Chaos” on emulating pro-American MAGA sentiments and yet failing to perform and live up to the hype. Subsequently, he had made a jarring sneer at the fighter’s failure hinting that Covington’s ‘US Military’ styled attack at Edwards let down close acquaintance Donald Trump and what he stands for. Speaking at the PBD Podcast, here’s what Covington had to say of the accuser:

Michael Chandler? Who? The guy was getting knocked out in Bellator, the guy’s a complete scrub. What’s his UFC record? Like, 1-4? We’re talking about that. My win percentage in the UFC is over, like, 90 percent, I’m an all-time great in this division.

Chandler wishes to fight at the historic UFC 300 card, against the returning Conor McGregor. Both he and “The Notorious” have a deep-seated rivalry, wishing to face off sooner rather than later.
