Bare-knuckle boxing is quickly rising to become one of the most entertaining combat sports organizations. Fight fans are drawn in by the absolute violence and bloodshed offered by the sport. Despite being called too barbaric by many, BKFC is showing steady progress and increasing its viewer base. However, UFC welterweight fighter Colby Covington does not have the same opinions on BKFC.

BKFC outdid itself after arranging an entertaining card like BKFC 41. The event featured a co-main fight between former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and fellow former UFC featherweight Chad Mendes. The main event featured a bare-knuckle boxing bout between former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and retired UFC fighter Mike Perry.

Along with the electrifying fights, the event also saw UFC’s superstar Conor McGregor in attendance. McGregor was seen enjoying himself and also faced off against Mike Perry after his win over Rockhold. BKFC 41 was the organization’s biggest event to date and displayed the tremendous growth made by the sport in only five years.

However, the UFC fighter Colby Chaos Covington is not interested in watching any of BKFC’s events. According to Covington, the organization is filled with washed-up UFC fighters. “To be honest, I’ve never watched one of those fights. I’m not interested in a sport like that and especially nonetheless guys are just UFC washouts,” said Covington in his recent interview on James Lynch’s YouTube channel. Chaos also stated that the fighters in the organization only fight there as they could not make it to the UFC.

These are just guys that are going to fight at the Indian Fairgrounds because they couldn’t make it in the UFC. The biggest and best fights, that’s only in the UFC. It’s the best organization in the world,” added Covington. Despite Colby’s reluctance to watch bare-knuckle boxing, one can’t deny the tremendous growth seen by the sport. The organization pays well and might see more fighters from UFC make a shift to BKFC in the near future.

UFC welterweight fighter Colby Covington was not impressed with the co-main event at UFC 288. The co-main featured a bout between Gilbert Burns and Belal Muhammad for the next in line after Colby Covington for a title shot. With a dominant win over Burns, Belal Muhammad secured a fight against the winner of Leon Edwards vs Colby Covington. While Belal’s 10-fight win streak is practically enough to guarantee him a title shot, Colby Covington does not think the same.

According to the welterweight contender, the fight between Gilbert Burns and Belal Muhammad was meaningless. “Everybody knows, Dana said it over and over again. I don’t know how many times the dorks over in the MMA media need it to be explained. I’m next for the world title fight. They weren’t fighting for anything last night,” said Colby.

He also stated that Belal will have to fight once more, before actually fighting for the title. With Leon Edwards hesitant to defend his title against Covington, their fight might get delayed. However, Covington claims the fight will take place in August after Leon disagreed to defend his title in London.
