“That guy’s a freedom fighter,” Colby Covington gets into HEATED face-off with feminist over Donald Trump in viral podcast

Colby Covington is known for his unfiltered views and his brash persona. Fight fans either love him or hate him. There is no in-between. He recently made a podcast appearance. However, things took a combustible turn when he got into a heated exchange with a feminist over Donald Trump.

The controversial fighter was a guest on the Valuetainment TV podcast. Things grew tense when one of the hosts asked Covington why the UFC crowd loved Trump. This led to an intense back and forth between Colby Covington and another host, Pixie, who identified as a feminist. She challenged Covington’s avid support for the former president. This is what Covington stated:

He [Donald Trump] is the biggest fighter America has ever seen. That guy is a freedom fighter. We really respect him in the UFC because we know how hard he has sacrificed in his own life to give us our freedom.

Pixie pushed back on Colby Covington’s claims. She asked him what freedom Trump had fought for. She argued that Trump’s policies actually harmed average Americans. However, Covington pushed back, citing the inflation crisis under President Joe Biden’s Administration. He also stated that Trump had kept the border safe, but Biden had not. The topic shifted to the US wars overseas, especially the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This set off a heated back-and-forth between the two opposing ideological viewpoints.

Pixie took another jab at the Republican party for continuously voting down welfare programs. She argued that Republicans like Trump like to talk about caring for their people but not doing anything about it. ‘Chaos‘ adamantly stood by Trump’s “America First” agenda. He insisted the billionaire businessman had working-class interests at heart.

Colby Covington once clashed with Michael Bisping about visiting the White House to put the belt on Donald Trump’s desk

Colby Covington is known for his association with Donald Trump. This has gone on for quite a while now. A tense confrontation erupted between then interim welterweight champion Colby Covington and Michael Bisping following UFC 225. Covington had just defeated Rafael dos Anjos to capture the interim 170-pound belt in the night’s main event in Chicago.

Bisping attempted to offer congratulations during the post-fight interview. But Covington’s brash persona and pro-Trump rhetoric quickly ignited an on-air skirmish. ‘Chaos’ said he was the undisputed champion even though Tyron Woodley was the champion. He said he would make the division great again by going to the White House and putting the belt on Donald Trump’s desk. 

Bisping then quipped the newly-minted interim champ wasn’t the “real champion.” That barb visibly irked Covington. Bisping further asked Covington whether he had the invite to go to the White House or if it was just fictional. This infuriated Covington, who quipped that Bisping probably wasn’t seeing well with his one eye.
