UFC #1 ranked welterweight Colby Covington has managed to leave the internet in splits after his hilarious statement on a podcast. The title-shot contender said that all professional fighters should have their hands registered with the police by law. While some think of it seriously, Colby’s outright troll behavior on the podcast has managed to leave fans in splits. Fans took to Twitter to give their reactions on Colby’s statements.

Colby Covington recently appeared on the TIMCAST IRL podcast to discuss some serious topics. The group talked about recent criminal happenings, conservative movements, and much more. While the whole conversation had a very serious tone, Colby’s take on professional fighters was a bit unusual. According to Covington, all MMA fighters by law have to do a certain thing after turning pro. “It’s a law all professional fighters have to register their hands at the police,” said Covington.

While registering firearms is something very common in the USA, registering hands is very unusual, as it is nothing more than an urban legend. The hosts of the podcast, unbeknownst of this, were fully in on the statement. While still not confirmed if Covington thinks it is true, many fans pointed out that the ‘Chaos’ was trolling the panel.

No boxers or mixed martial artists have to register their hands as a lethal weapon. However, if a professional fighter was to get in a brawl and cause severe injuries or death, it would be heavily used by an opposing lawyer during the trial.

Covington appeared on the TIMCAST IRL podcast as a panel member. During his appearance, he talked about conservative narratives and discussed recent news. While the whole interview was primarily serious, Colby Covington might have trolled the panel unbeknownst to them. With the whole panel taking Colby’s argument too seriously fans found this ignorant behavior too funny.

People on the Internet had a field day as they posted their reactions to Colby’s trolling statements. “I’m still trying to find the damn lethal hands registration office at my police precinct,” posted one user after hearing Colby’s statement. “Look at him smiling. This is a stereotype fighters laugh at. He’s trolling. Pure villainy,” said another user.

On the sports side of things, with his ‘lethal hands’, Covington will soon fight Leon Edwards for the title. While the date is not confirmed, Dana White is targeting the fight in August.
