Joe Rogan remembers being in high school and watching a brawl at a party. Joe Rogan has been watching fights since he joined UFC as a commentator. In one of his podcasts with comedian Bill Burr, Rogan talked about how he got to see the first-ever brawl of his life.

Rogan reveals that it happened when he was in high school and everybody got invited to a party by a rich kid who wanted to make friends. Rogan then explained that there was this girl who slapped the guy and he reacted by loading a punch into her. Rogan said,

"There was a rich kid who moved into the neighborhood. He wanted to make friends. So, he put on this crazy party… And this girl…She either slapped this guy in the face or she threw a drink in his face. But what I remember is he uncorked a perfect right hand on her. He knew how to punch. Like, I remember thinking, wow, this guy is trained."

The UFC commentator found himself in the right spot to see everything unfold, and he couldn’t help but admire the guy’s punching skills. Burr, thoroughly amused by Rogan’s storytelling, joked that Rogan seemed like a seasoned fight commentator.

Joe Rogan, a trained kickboxer and BJJ artist himself, often speaks about how much difference there is between someone who knows fighting and someone who doesn’t train at all. Rogan, in a podcast with Lex Fridman, explained how normal people make fun of and take trained professionals for granted. Rogan revealed that in a fight situation, an untrained individual would not be able to do anything to someone who has been training BJJ or any mixed martial arts.

Rogan then elaborated on the sheer dominance of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expertise, underscoring that when someone excels in this martial art, an ordinary person’s attempts to challenge them become futile moves.

With a touch of certainty, the UFC color commentator emphasized that a seasoned fighter, well-versed in BJJ, possesses the ability to seamlessly execute a sequence of actions. This includes swiftly taking their opponent down to the canvas, maintaining control, delivering elbow strikes, and ending the contest with a submission hold, thereby establishing an almost unmatched advantage.
