“I snipe him dead in one single shot,” Conor McGregor can’t stop tirade against Justin Gaethje as Irishman fumes over lightweight’s comments
Conor McGregor has not fought in two years. The UFC could book a high-profile opponent other than Michael Chandler for his return bout.

Conor McGregor quickly started to express his desire to fight Justin Gaethje after Gaethje won the BMF title. McGregor predicted he would efficiently finish the new BMF champion if they fought. However, Gaethje responded with a firm no, indicating he would not fight someone on steroids. It did not sit well with the Irishman, who declared an act of war against Gaethje in a deleted tweet.
Conor McGregor wrote, “The guy is about as smart as two planks. He is a one shotter for me. I snipe him dead in one single shot. And easily.” McGregor’s confidence remains at an all-time high despite not winning a bout in three years. The UFC has been trying to book a fight between McGregor and Michael Chandler for the last PPV of the year. However, McGregor’s new desire and its implications may lead him to fight Justin Gaethje.
On the other hand, Gaethje could be looking at a title shot after winning the BMF belt. He would likely face the bout winner between Charles Oliveira and champion Islam Makhachev. Hence, Gaethje might not risk a title shot by competing against McGregor when he has nothing to gain. Gaethje has impressive wins over Rafael Fiziev and Dustin Poirier.

McGregor has no wins against the ranked lightweight fighters in the division. Michael Chandler could be the best option for McGregor to see where the Irishman ranks at this stage of his career. Dana White has not considered a new opponent for McGregor’s return. Hence, it all remains speculation at this point.
Justin Gaethje is a bad matchup for Conor McGregor

Despite the fame and popularity of Conor McGregor, he has yet to prove that he is a top fighter. His game plan against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 ultimately caused his loss. McGregor came to the bout expecting a boxing clash with Poirier. However, Poirier tactfully used his wrestling and leg kicks to win the bout.
At UFC 264, in the trilogy bout with Poirier, he struggled to return to his feet once both fighters were on the ground. Prime Conor McGregor could easily get back up when taken down. Then, there is the cardio issue. McGregor does not have the cardio to fight five rounds. The losses to Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov were partly due to the cardio issue.
Justin Gaethje has the cardio and leg kicks to break McGregor apart in the course of five rounds. Conor McGregor’s only shot against Gaethje will be to counterstrike the BMF champion and knock him out effectively. The more the fight goes, the more it favors Gaethje.
