Newly crowned UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland shocked the entire MMA community with his victory at UFC 293. Strickland who is known for his outspoken personality and controversial opinions went into the fight as an underdog. He spoke about how he lives a simple life and will continue to do so after his championship win. However, UFC superstar Conor McGregor has different views on that topic.

Strickland looked like he was in disbelief after his win against Israel Adesanya and spoke about why fans love him. He believes that he has a lot of fans because he represents the common man. He said, “Name one UFC champion that drives a Hyundai Accent. I ain’t trading that thing, $16,000 MSRP I ain’t leaving that”. He spoke about how he was just a common man and earned the belt for himself.

Strickland has referred to himself as “White trash” multiple times as he believes that he represents the common man. However, McGregor believes that Strickland will soon embrace the champion’s lifestyle. McGregor believes that Strickland will trade his Hyundai Accent for a better car in a few month’s time. The former double champ himself lives a lavish lifestyle.

McGregor is one of the richest active UFC fighters and leads a life of luxury himself. He knows the feeling of becoming a champion and embracing the rich lifestyle. It remains to be seen if Strickland actually does follow McGregor’s advice in the future.

Strickland shocked many people in the MMA community with his dominant performance against Adesanya. He used the infamous “spar only” method which consists of striking and going back and forth with your opponent without going to the ground. This highly impressed McGregor.

McGregor took to Twitter to extend his appreciation for the newly crowned champion. He appreciated Strickland and explained how his method led him to the championship. However, McGregor did not put down Adesanya and appreciated his striking prowess too. The Irishman believes that this would not be possible without the UFC’s power.

McGregor appreciates talent when he sees it and Strickland proved himself to the Irishman. Both fighters are famous for their outspoken personality and trash-talking skills. Fans will look forward to seeing the two fighters meet in the future.
