Conor McGregor is the sport’s biggest superstar, although he has not fought in almost three years. McGregor announced on New Year‘s Eve of 2024 that he will make his comeback on June 29th against Michael Chandler at middleweight. However, UFC CEO Dana White has revealed a possible September date for McGregor.

In a recent Q&A session on Instagram, McGregor revealed his thoughts on when he would make his comeback. It was among one of many questions that got a reply from McGregor via his Instagram stories. Nonetheless, his answer to when he would return seemed very honest. This is what the “The Notorious” Conor McGregor said about it.

Still holding hope for June 29th. Lack of action on it however is now causing lack of enthusiasm. I need a decision soon. I am the most tested athlete under this new regime. Yet no date to fight.

McGregor also stated that the UFC looked lackluster, and it has also made him have reservations about his return. Funnily enough, he even jokingly hoped for upcoming PPV cards to bust so the UFC would feel they needed him.

McGregor had flirted with a return as the headliner for UFC 300, but the UFC announced Jamahal Hill and Alex Pereira for the event. Michael Chandler is the possible opponent for McGregor on his return, and he had sat out a long time for the McGregor fight.

Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler for UFC 300 headliner was a fight that fans highly anticipated. Nonetheless, McGregor had no qualms about not fighting on the coveted PPV. McGregor even spoke positively about the PPV on Instagram after a fan asked about it on a Q&A session

McGregor revealed that the fight card impressed him because the UFC did it at a difficult time. Moreover, he also stated that there were very good, tremendous fights on the card. Even though he is one of the best trash talkers in the game, he has given credit when credit is due.

McGregor has always watched high-profile UFC events and will certainly watch UFC 300. Moreover, he would also likely give predictions before the fight and provide his take on fights during and after the fight. McGregor gave out his predictions for the main card fight of UFC 298. Sans the prediction for Alexander Volkanovski vs. Ilia Topuria, he got the others right.
