Conor McGregor has remained a part of major headlines since the start of the year. From his return to the mainstream to r*pe accusations to suffering losses as a coach in season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter show against Team Chandler has all made front page news among the MMA community. Nevertheless this time, McGregor seems to be in the news for something more strange.
“The Notorious” Conor McGregor is among the most talked about athletes globally. His past glory gave him immense wealth and fame like no other fighter. But he fell apart as a man and a fighter recently. The Irishman has tried bringing back the love of the people in multiple ways. He has been a team leader on TUF, released documentaries, tweeted motivational quotes and posted pictures with family.
McGregor has also changed his style and look quite a bit over the years. It has ranged from an average-sized beard to a very long one accompanied by a mullet. However, his latest tweet contained a video of the fighter’s latest fashion statement. McGregor had a handlebar-like moustache which is rather an unconventional look for the Irish superstar.
Many companies follow a similar approach of changing the face of the company during tumultuous times. For instance, Facebook changed to ‘Meta‘ after grave concerns about user data leakage to third parties. It seems like Conor McGregor is trying to change his look to turn a new leaf through this rough patch he’s in.
Fans are split in their opinion about Conor McGregor’s latest tweet
The recent change in facial hair by the Mystic Mac came off as very random to many fans. Several fans favor it, while others did not like the change. Change is something that everyone is uncomfortable with, but this decision by McGregor seems to have ignited another aversion towards change for some people. One fan tweeted, “Woke up from a bender with a handlebar“. Check out some of the fan reactions:
If such changes psychologically affect McGregor and his life, fight fans around the world would welcome it with open arms. Let’s hope the wealthiest sportsperson in the MMA world can make one of the greatest comebacks in combat sports.
