A recent dig by Conor McGregor towards UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski sparked speculations about a rumored fight at UFC 300. Later, Volkanovski replied to McGregor by challenging him for a fight at UFC 300.

McGregor tweeted, ” Ask my bollox that little sausage volkanovski is no way p4p 1. Silly. That’s quick work for me. 100% accuracy work. Readable. Hittable. Hurtable. I like he has this title tho we should fight at some stage so the FW goats will have all faced off and let there be no debate.” This tweet caught Volkanovski’s attention. The featherweight champ replied, “Let’s do it at #UFC300 @TheNotoriousMMA .”

This tweet was unexpected, as the two fighters did not have a rivalry. But recently, Conor is notoriously known for taking digs at dominant UFC champions near his weight class. And a name like Alexander Volkanovski could be like playing a game of fire. Right now, Volkanovski is one of the best fighters in the promotion.
