Conor McGregor announced his comeback fight after spending two years on the sidelines.
He unveiled fighting Michael Chandler in June 2024. Moreover, he shocked everyone, announcing the fight was to take place at 185lbs. Soon, ‘Iron’ made a statement on his YouTube claiming to be stronger and questioned McGregor’s ability to lift heavy weights. As such, ‘The Notorious’ responded to the comments.

On his YouTube channel, Michael Chandler stated he didn’t need to gain any extra weight or improve his strength because he was already better than Conor McGregor. ‘Iron’ often posted workout videos on his social media. Even during the one-year waiting period for McGregor, he trained hard and lifted heavy to keep himself in shape. So, he made these claims based on not finding any video of McGregor working out with heavy weights. Upon hearing these, McGregor just responded with a laugh.

Later, Conor McGregor went on X to state lifting belts was more important than lifting weights. As such he wrote “Lifting belts > Lifting weights“. He won the UFC title in two weight divisions, featherweight and lightweight. But, Michael Chandler couldn’t attain the UFC gold. Once, he fought for the title against Charles Oliveira but lost the fight via TKO. As such, ‘The Notorious’ trolled ‘Iron’ for his criticisms.

Conor McGregor in his last fight with Dustin Poirier injured his leg. So, he took a long break to rehabilitate his injury. Finally, he announced returning to the octagon in June 2024. As such, he revealed his fight against Michael Chandler at middleweight. ‘Iron’ last fought in 2022 and waited for over a year for his bout with McGregor.

Ever since Conor McGregor announced his fight with Michael Chandler at middleweight, he faced a lot of heat on social media. While many outright dismissed them fighting at 185lbs, a few believed in McGregor’s words. As such, one fan compared the physique of ‘The Notorious’ and Chandler in a tweet. Now, the comparison received a response from the man himself.

In the tweet, the fan posted pictures of Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler at about 185 lbs. McGregor’s picture was taken when he went on a bulk during his recovery from the leg injury. He looked huge and flexed for the cameras in the picture. For Chandler, the fan dug up an old image of him weighing in at 185lbs. As such, he shared the images on X and expressed his fascination for McGregor’s physique. In response, ‘The Notorious’ hyped up his upcoming fight by saying ‘Coming soon on PPV muhahahaha‘.

Conor McGregor, known for his mind games and trash-talk has already started playing with Michael Chandler. Ever since the TUF filming, ‘The Notorious’ found ways to gain a mental edge over ‘Iron’. As such, his recent tweets did the same thing. The duo get into action in June 2024 as a highlighted middleweight bout for International Fight Week.
