Conor McGregor is undoubtedly the most celebrated fighter in MMA. Many may question his losses, but none question his fame and accomplishments. Besides all of this, McGregor has a deadly striking ability that earned him all the accolades. He hopes to showcase them once again in his bout with Michael Chandler.

The duo competed against each other as a coach in the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter. A new clip on the internet highlighted McGregor’s love for the sport. The Irishman and Chandler had a promotional face-off in the TUF episode. Everyone in the clip and viewers too could feel the tension between them. After the promotion, McGregor and Chandler shook hands and parted ways. “I wish it was right now,” McGregor said after the promotion ended.

McGregor is widely known for his trash-talking and intimidation. These are all part of his promotional strategy, and he perfectly plans these altercations. Some of his famous off-stage rivalries would be against UFC legends Jose Aldo, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Nate Diaz. He has also taken part in a boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather. His zeal, along with his skills, have gained him more success than any MMA fighter.

With a good combination of striking as well as grappling, Michael Chandler is a danger to all lightweight fighters. Ever since his arrival in the UFC, Chandler has fought all top contenders in the division. The former Bellator lightweight champion has faced fighters like Charles Oliveira, Justin Gaethje, and Dustin Poirier. He is set to have his next fight against his rival TUF coach, Conor McGregor.

The factor that may give Chandler an upper hand over McGregor would be wrestling. McGregor has a history of weakness toward good wrestlers. Everyone clearly witnessed this in his loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

They recently completed the season at TUF, and the two are set to fight later this year. McGregor is looking to make a significant comeback, and Chandler is all in for the money fight. Both fighters need a win if they have any title aspirations.
