The UFC Bantamweight division always gives the fans the best of the fights and the bout between Sean O’Malley and Petr Yan was no different. Going into the fight, Yan was the fan favorite with a superior boxing record. As the fight started, both the fighters went all out and gave their best to win the fight. Both Yan and O’Malley were in amazing form and showed some lethal striking.
O’Malley landed some nasty shots and at the end of the fight Yan was bleeding, however, the Russian showed why his defense is one of the best in the business. Yan was calm and collected and connected a lot of counters and had successful takedowns. It was an extremely entertaining fight and after 15 minutes of high-end action, O’Malley was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

Pros threw shade at UFC for the controversial decision in favor of Sean O’Malley against Petr Yan
The fight delivered what it promised and both fighters put forward a great show to entertain the fans. However, the decision attracted a lot of controversies as many thought it was a robbery and Yan deserved the win.
Here are some of the most notable MMA pros that reacted to the fight through Twitter. Conor McGregor who is a friend of O’Malley sarcastically called Yan a shooter for his takedown frequent attempts.

UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal blamed the judges in Abu Dhabi for ruining the careers of fighters by making wrong decisions. He wrote:

Unlike anybody else, Paulo Costa seems to like that O’Malley won the fight and called Yan a dwarf. He wrote :

Darren Till wasn’t sure if the decision made by the judges was legit as he went to Twitter to confirm what he saw. He wrote:
“Really?”
Chris Weidman gave credit to O’Malley for his performance but didn’t think that the fighter won the fight against Yan. He wrote:
“Man… Suga showed toughness and had a great fight but he didn’t win that fight.”
Michael Chiesa was impressed by the fight but was expecting Yan to win but nevertheless, gave props to O’Malley for winning the bout.
“Wowwwwwww. I had Yan winning 30-27 but none the less, O’Malley showed he’s an elite bantamweight. I’m sold that he’ll get his hands on a belt someday. #UFC280”
Nick Maximov was extremely confused by the decision and didn’t expect O’Malley to take the win.

Former UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman was entertained by the fight and gave a shout-out to O’Malley.
“What a fight. @SugaSeanMMA definitely one of the best in the division #UFC280,” wrote Usman.
Former Bantamweight champion was disappointed by the way the fight ended called it the biggest robbery in UFC history.
“Worst robbery I’m UFC history, I hope our sport doesn’t become boxing @danawhite”
