Former double champ and businessman Conor McGregor owns The Black Forge Inn in Dublin. The pub is trendy and is visited by many MMA fans and personalities. The pub had faced a massive downfall during the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in losses of almost 1.2 million dollars. The business has hit losses of nearly 1.5 million by December 2021.
Like many other pubs, the pub faced significant losses throughout the pandemic. In an interview, a spokesperson of the Inn said they knew they were operating at a loss. They ramped up the service and opened the pub after the restrictions were lifted. They also said, “With our notoriously generous owner, Conor McGregor, sparing no cost in bringing all the excellence Ireland has to offer to our amazing pub.”
They also said how they plan to expand their brand and become the most renowned Irish pub in the world. Their recent pop-up in Abu Dhabi for the Formula One Grand Prix was a huge success and showcased their potential. McGregor also personally attended many F1 events.
He also recently hosted boxing promoter Eddie Hearn for a drink. The pub was originally built in the 1800s and was formerly a blacksmith’s shop. It was renovated in 2019 and reopened with a new menu and a focus on live music. McGregor’s takeover of the pub did attract a lot of customers. Fans can also take pictures with his championship belts and watch his fights.

To cover up the losses, McGregor made a brilliant business move. He brought his infamous pub, The Black Forge Inn, to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Formula One race. They had a pop-up pub at the racetrack.
McGregor announced this on his social media, exciting a lot of fans. He wrote, “We’re at @f1 this weekend! A world first! The Black Forge Inn Pop-Up – No other Pub in the world is doing what we do! Enjoy Forged Stout, Proper 12, Get your photo with the belt! Meet the team“. He was seen at the pop-up enjoying a drink of his own.
McGregor owns multiple businesses, such as Proper No. Twelve whiskey, August McGregor clothing, and his own fitness app McGregor Fast. He is a successful businessman who has diversified his interests beyond fighting.
