“Strapped bro”- Conor McGregor open to a comeback against Nate Diaz at 170lbs to cap off the trilogy
Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz embrace after their 5 round battle at UFC 202
Since 2016, when Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz faced off for the second time in a five-round slugfest many have been eagerly waiting for the duo to bring about a conclusion to what has been one of the highest-grossing two-fight series in all of combat sports. Unfortunately, both fighters had other plans before they decided to face each other one more time, with Nate going on a long lay-off and Conor being busy with boxing and unsuccessfully trying to regain his lightweight title.
Today, Diaz seemed to announce his much-awaited return to the octagon in what could possibly be his final UFC fight. The Stockton native took to Twitter and announced a date and a weight saying, “30th July, 170 bs.” Nate Offered no further clarification as to who his opponent would be. However, in the replies to this tweet, The Nate Diaz Translator account mentioned The Notorious One with the caption, “THE TRILOGY. ITS ON. Conor McGregor, strap that leg up”

Conor McGregor promises to bring the war to Nate Diaz in their trilogy fight
Not much later the actual McGregor replied saying, “Strapped Bro. Sig Sour Jellies” with a gun emoji that followed. Conor seemingly was willing to fight Diaz and bring the war to him, with Sig Sauer being a weapons manufacturing company based in Switzerland. In a follow-up, he replied saying, “40 Glocks @ Delilah” Ever since his loss to Dustin Poirier, Conor has been eager to fight Nate Diaz to cap-oof the trilogy between them, with him saying at one point that the third fight is “inevitable”
Time, however, doesn’t seem to be on Conor’s side as Diaz, who is on the last fight in his contract is in much hurry to leave for greener pastures that may also include a future Boxing bout between him and youtube-star Jake Paul. Nate has previously told that he is in no mood to wait for McGregor to return as it is pretty uncertain what his recovery has been like and if he’ll ever step back into the octagon.
Conor has been out since July of last year when he broke his tibia late in the first round of his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier while Diaz last saw action a month prior to Conor in his losing effort against Leon Edwards at UFC 262. The only fight Diaz has recently campaigned for has been a bout against Dustin Poirier but it is unsure in what division the fight takes place
