Conor McGregor posts training footage of him looking incredible on the pads
Conor McGregor
In what seems to be a busy day at the McGregor fast office, Conor McGregor has blessed us fans with even more updates about his rehabilitation process on the long road to finally returning to the octagon. Currently 34 years of age, McGregor still believes he is in his prime if only he could completely be sure about the state and strength of his leg.
Conor McGregor snapped his lower tibia due to a misstep during his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier. Both Dustin and Conor have different accounts of how it happened with Dustin claiming a check on one of Conor’s kicks is what caused the snap, while McGregor says she walked into the fight with a pre-existing injury.
Whatever the case may be, the endpoint is that McGregor has been out of action for more than a year and will likely not return the octagon by the end of 2022. However, his training seems to have been picked a notch. Far from his Cannes days of throwing sloppy punches, the Irishman seems to be getting his rhythm back.
Conor McGregor releases a series of new training footage
Conor McGregor looks crisp on the pads in the latest training footage he recently shared over Instagram. In a series of 5 videos, McGregor can be seen hitting the pads in his gym and also right next to his prized yachts. By the sea, the Irishman can be seen working on the pads with a slip-slip-1-2 combo.
McGregor can then be seen working on his power punches with his coach inside the gym this time. He can be seen working on his uppercuts as well as overhand hooks on the pads. After this, he posted the most noteworthy among the rest of the footage as he was seen using his left leg, the one that was broken a year ago to kick the pads.
While not as swift as he used to be, it can be accounted to slight hesitation caused by trauma. In later footage, Conor works on his lead leg kick, still on the pads. Followed by a short clip of him working on jab and hook combos.
Captioned, “The tastiest around there’s a reason I’m currently priced 200 million pounds” McGregor can surely live the rest of his life in comfort waking up on linen sheets but will he have the will to make his way back to the theatre of violence that is the Octagon, is yet to be seen
