Conor McGregor has paid around €10,000 (£8,600) to ensure that two Irish twins can participate in a youth MMA tournament.
While recovering from a broken leg, the Irish UFC legend has kept a close eye on the sport at all levels, from his own promotion to youth teams. He stepped in with a massive donation after learning that Irish brothers Adam and Dylan Duffy were struggling to reach their €6,000 goal on GoFundMe in order to compete in the IMMAF youth championships in Abu Dhabi.
The tournament will take place from August 15 to 21, and the 13-year-old twins will compete against some of the world’s best young MMA talent. IMMAF tournaments have produced some of the sport’s top prospects.

The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) is a global sports organisation dedicated to the development of MMA as a recreational and elite international sport. It’s Youth World Championships feature children aged 12 to 17 competing under a modified ruleset that prohibits head strikes and serves as a stepping stone for those interested in a career in MMA.
McGregor previously met the twins in January at his Dublin hangout, the Black Forge Inn, where he signed toys for them. He shared a photo with the couple at the time and later fulfilled their dream trip to Abu Dhabi.
“I was going insane. I thought he was joking until he showed me the comments. I feel like I have to win now because he donated all that money!” Adam tells in an interview with the Guardian.
Dylan further adds, “We might not have been able to go without his help. There are so many gyms out there and he donated to us, which is insane.”
