Conor McGregor is the biggest name the sport of MMA has witnessed. Now, the Irish superstar is set to make his acting debut in Hollywood. He featured alongside the acting phenom Jake Gyllenhaal in ‘Road House’ – a film based on the life of an ex-UFC fighter. As such, he recounted the experience of the filming process. McGregor also boasted about being the highest-paid debut actor in Hollywood history.

Recently, Conor McGregor has been making rounds in numerous interviews to promote his debut film. As such, he sat down with Jake Gyllenhaal and other cast members for a press conference. In it, he spoke about how fun it was for him during the shooting process. Moreover, he appreciated the assistance he got from the other cast members. As such, he mentioned about one amusing instruction he received from the crew.

It was a hell of a lot of fun. My first time doing it, I had an amazing cast to guide me and direct me, assist me. They just told me to turn the crazy down a notch and go. And that's what I done. So, that was me turned down a notch - That was Knox.

When the production released the film’s trailer, fight fans took notice of how closely McGregor’s character ‘Knox’ resembled his real-life attitude. McGregor is a brash and flamboyant character in real life. As such, ‘The Notorious’ humorously admitted his character just required a little less brashness from his original self.

McGregor and Jake Gyllenhaal’s Road House didn’t get a theatrical release and would be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video on March 21. However, the film premiered this month at the SXSW Film Festival in Texas. Fight fans eagerly wait to see ‘Knox’ in action. Equally, they awaited the octagon return of the former double champion. Rumors suggest he is to fight Michael Chandler in June 2024.

The UFC star is currently busy with promotional duties for his debut film ‘Road House’. However, he hasn’t let his sight off his fighting career. The questions about his return have been rampant, and the fighter seems eager to make his return. However, there is no clarity on the situation much to his and the fans’ dismay. The Irish superstar does have plans to fight multiple times this year, but they will only come to fruition with the UFC’s blessing.

In his recent interaction with a media outlet during the premiere of his film, McGregor answered a few questions about his MMA return. He stated he was occupied with the film’s promotional tour and couldn’t train full-fledged. However, he unveiled he went through multiple training camps in the meantime. As such, he promised to put forth a dedicated training camp after the release of ‘Road House’ and come back.

I’m wrapping up this tour… I’m gonna get back and regroup. I’m gonna test myself physical wise… and get myself right back.

McGregor last fought in 2021 against Dustin Poirier where he brutally broke his leg. As such, he went through rigorous rehab and is now fully healed. He was to face Chandler last year. However, even after announcing the fight multiple times, the UFC hasn’t made it official. As such, fight fans waited for his comeback and expect him to fight in 2024.
